Rotary Wildfire Ready

About Rotary Wildfire Ready

Rotary Wildfire Ready is a community-based project designed to increase wildfire awareness and help make communities safer from the threat of wildfire.

Founded in 2018 by the Rotary Club of Evergreen, Rotary Wildfire Ready has developed resources and events to help residents become  knowledgable, engaged and prepared for wildfire.   Rotary Wildfire Ready has partnered closely with local fire departments and Colorado State Forest Service to develop "best in class' resources on wildfire preparedness.    Rotary Wildfire Ready is funded through the Evergreen Rotary Foundation which is a 501(3)(C) Colorado nonprofit and affiliated with a working group of Rotary Clubs &
Engaged Community Leaders.

HOW IT WORKS

Rotary clubs can add Rotary Wildfire Ready as part of their Community Service outreach.   Clubs will be able to access Rotary Wildfire Ready resources and will have access to Rotary Wildfire Ready's Leadership Council who are available to answer questions on how best to implement the program.   The Leadership Council will also be available to do a Zoom on the program to your team or club as needed.   Rotary Wildfire Ready provides all resources to any Rotary club interested in adding the program.    Rotary Wildfire Ready incurs the cost of the program's administrative expenses and resource development.

Becoming a Rotary Wildfire Ready Partner

Rotary Club partners are organizations who help bring to program to towns and communities around the country.   Partners should share in the mission and purpose of Rotary Wildfire Ready.      Partners are responsible for engaging their communities at the local level.   They promote their local programs online and at events.

Step 1:   Want to get started?
To determine if your club wants to be involved, reach out to your Community Service chair and bring this program to their attention.  You'll need to follow the Rotary Wildfire Ready Branding Guidelines and complete the Memorandum of Agreement to get started.     Please carefully review the "How to Start" section of this website to get more guidance on how to Organize,  what to Learn, how to Share and how to Engage.   You can also reach out to the Rotary Wildfire Leadership Counsil to ask questions.

Step 2:  Putting the program in place for your club
To become a partner, you'll need to complete the Memorandum of Agreement and Partner Information sheet -- these will outline Rotary Wildfire Ready's relationship and capture key information.
